The 45th Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards did not prove to be a triumphant night for Little Big Town. The quartet has gained steady success since their debut in 2002, but faced stiff competition: Lady Antebellum, the Zac Brown Band, Randy Rogers Band, and Rascal Flatts.
This past Sunday night, Lady Antebellum took home the crown for Top Vocalist Group of the Year. Lady Antebellum came out as the night’s top winner, taking home a total of 5 awards in three categories.
Little Big Town has little time to think about the loss. They are getting prepared for this year’s Country Throwdown Tour kicking off May 14, 2010, at the Ford Amphitheater in Tampa, FL. Other acts joining Little Big Town on the road are Montgomery Gentry, Jamey Johnson, Jack Ingram, The Lost Trailers, Emily West and many more. Little Big Town is up for an Academy of Country Music Award for Top Vocalist Group of the Year.
The quartet, whose biggest hit thus far was “Boondocks” off of “The Road to Here” in 2005, will go up against Lady Antebellum, Randy Rogers band, Rascal Flatts and the Zac Brown Band.
The band has released four albums since 2002, each gaining more and more steam. “Little White Church” is set for a 2010 release, so they are sure to be all over the place come Award season in 2011!

On June 8, 2008, during the CMA Music Fest in Nashville, Tenn., Little Big Town will be teaming up with ‘Ride For A Cure,’ an annual motorcycle ride that will benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation.
The ride will begin at one of the largest Harley-Davidson dealerships in Tennessee, and will end in a field party, complete with a barbecue luncheon provided by Applebee’s and a performance from Little Big Town.
The T.J. Martell Foundation is one of the world’s primary funders of innovative, early stage cancer and AIDS research that leads to practical, effective treatments in the near term.
